Tervuren – Approximately 40 officially recognized Flemish associations from Tervuren are seeking volunteers at a recruitment fair organized by town hall at the prestigious AfricaMuseum on Thursday, February 20, starting at 7:00 PM. Attendees will also enjoy a complimentary guided tour of the museum, along with artistic and musical performances.
For those still learning Dutch, volunteering offers an excellent opportunity to enhance language skills in a dynamic, real-world setting beyond traditional classroom environments. The event is designed to foster community engagement, offering a platform for discovery and inspiration.
The participating organizations include diverse entities such as Huis van het Kind, Woonzorgcentrum Zoniën, the local Library, Café Combinne, Oxfam-Wereldwinkel Tervuren, Voedselhulp Druivenstreek, Ubuntu, Harmonie Vossem, Heemkundige Kring, Kristelijke Werknemersbeweging (KWB), and Fietsbieb Tervuren.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet representatives from a wide array of local organizations, learning how they can contribute to the community through activities in arts, sports, welfare, or environmental efforts.
Do you have ideas and energy as a volunteer to help grow Tervuren+ as an independent community news service? We’d also love to hear from you!
Where: AfricaMuseum, 13 Leuvensesteenweg, Tervuren.
